Karen Fleetwood, MS, LPC
Hello, my name is Karen Fleetwood, owner of Atlas Counseling, at Hanover Counseling Collective. I am a licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia, Nationally board certified and member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society.
Before becoming licensed, I provided Intensive In-Home therapy to children and families for over 15 years, bringing over 20 years of direct clinical care, experience, treatment and knowledge into my own private practice.
I utilize a Person-Centered approach to therapy, meeting patients where they are at and developing a treatment plan that is specific to their needs. I utilize a very eclectic approach of therapy modalities, to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, art, expressive therapy and other approaches to meet patients goals that are specific to their needs. These approaches allow me to work with those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, adjustment disorders, divorce, co-parenting and loss and grief.
I thoroughly enjoy working with middle and high school students, as well as individuals and families within my community. My goal as a professional is to help my patients meet their personal goals, at the pace they feel is right for them while providing support.
